19 DAYS TO GO!!
In 19 days we take the next steps in our unique collaboration between Hackers Guild trainers and US Peace Corps, ultimately leading to another 1200+ underprivileged girls and boys from rural Zambia to learn technology skills including basic computer use, programming, robotics, physical programming, circuitry and electronics, and computer architecture. Everything is set for the team led by our rural coding series manager, Daniel Bevington. They are scheduled to begin efforts to serve youth in Northern Province on 12th of August 2018. With consecutive throughout the month, each intensive seven-day program also provides life skills training in HIV awareness and prevention, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, and the concept of “ubuntu,” which is a traditional concept of the inter-connectedness of people for the good of humanity. This program is part of the Hackers Guild vision to reach toward all Zambia through its training programs and is called “Girls Can Code!” and “Boys Can Code!” Technology Camps under our Rural Coding Series.
We began this partnership with the US Peace Corps to educate rural Zambia three years ago, and, through it we have reached thousands of girls and boys.
