As we all know, the end of every season gives way for a new one, we are very optimistic about the activities lined up for 2018 as well as the new opportunities coming our way. We are winding up our 2017 activity calendar and our fellows have continued to learn how to apply new tools in software development. They are currently learning Mongo Data Base while part of our developer team that is building a mobile application for one of our clients.
From Boot Camp to Fellowship! As announced at the Boot Camp closing ceremony, the fellowship program has officially begun. The program hosts candidates selected from the just ended Boot Camp. It’s been such a journey for them as they further their knowledge in software development with us. The fellowship gives our fellows a chance to work on actual projects with our team of developers, which enables them to practically use the tools they learnt during the Boot Camp.
October has indeed been a great month for Hackers Guild. We were able to have the Boot Camp closing ceremony, our first ever Hackathon and Makerfaire. The first round of our school club program with some of the schools in Lusaka finally came to a wrap with a Hackathon. The schools in attendance were Arakan Boys, Arakan Girls, Kabulonga Girls, Kamwala High School, Munali Boys, Munali Girls and David Kaunda National Technical School (DK).
